Oh so many faces you’ve seen in oh so many movies and TV shows.
On FOX’s new 9-1-1, premiering Wednesday, January 3 at 9 p.m., featuring emergency responders from a variety of agencies, one can only hope it’s as fun and watchable as Chicago Fire (and its spinoffs), Grey’s Anatomy (and its spinoffs), Law and Order (and its spinoffs), and maybe ER (no spinoffs? What? Yeah…no spinoffs needed when you have Clooney and the dude from Top Gun).
With 9-1-1, we get Peter Krause, Connie Britton and a supremely melodramatic Angela Bassett (at least in the trailer), doing their best to protect and serve the great people of Los Angeles.
Surprisingly, this procedural comes from one of my favorite producers, Ryan Murphy, the creator of such diverse fare as American Horror Story, Glee, and personal fav Nip/Tuck. (I thought I read it wrong at first, thinking it said Shawn Ryan instead, who I’d more readily associate a program like this.)
Rounding out the main cast are Aisha Hinds and Rockmond Dunbar. The 20th Century Fox Television production is co-created by Murphy and longtime collaborator Brad Falchuk, with Tim Minear and Bradly Buecker executive producing, and Minear the showrunner.
Will you watch the pilot episode of 9-1-1? I’m looking forward to it, if only to see all these old pros together working on what looks like a procedural drama on dramatic ‘roids.
