All the talk this week about the 40th anniversary of Dallas’s debut got me thinking about one of the many pretenders to its prime time network soap opera throne Continue reading ‘The Yellow Rose’: 80s primetime soap could have been a contender →

Didn't know if I'd enjoy it, but ABRAKADABRA (2018) does a good job at what it sets out to do - mimic a '70s giallo. Nice, short runtime and a nice Blu-ray package from newcomer @cauldron_films
My first homebrew ColecoVision cartridge: MEAN SANTA, by Chris Derrig & Tim Duarte of 2600 Connection. A nice package with a case & instruction booklet. Looking forward to digging out the console & giving it a play.
I never thought movies like MARTIAL LAW 1 & 2 (1990-1991) would *ever* get a Blu-ray release, let alone the deluxe treatment. But here we are - Cynthia Rothrock in all her HD kung fu glory, thanks to @vinegarsyndrome's Archive line (VSA).
Charlize Theron battles wits with a sadistic Kevin Bacon in TRAPPED (2002), released on Blu-ray by @millcreekent. Review up at MoviesandDrinks.com
First-time watch of this obscurity, THE ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT (1987). Surprise appearance by James Avery (Family Matters, Die Hard)! Released to disc by @vinegarsyndrome
One of my oldest Blu-rays (from 2007), & it still plays fine :) BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID (1969). Good old days of moviemaking with Newman & Redford.

A rambling pop culture conversation.
