‘Diana: In Her Own Words’: Princess Di’s secret recordings go public

Fans of Princess Diana…do you think you’ve heard everything she’s said? National Geographic is betting you haven’t.

From executive producer and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker Tom Jennings of 1895 Films, Diana: In Her Own Words weaves archival footage and photography with rarely heard recordings, according to the studio.

They say one-shot special is told entirely in the Princess’ voice, with no interviews.

The producers say most of the recordings have never been broadcast before.

ABC just aired The Story of Diana on August 9, and with her August 31, 1997, death now 20 years ago, you can expect a lot of retrospectives to continue to pop up.

Diana: In Her Own Words premieres Monday, August 14, on National Geographic.
