‘Disaster on the Coastliner’ (1979): Shatner leads fun, silly, TV disaster thriller

So. It’s getting late and I don’t want to screw around. I don’t want “good” TV or “fine television” (blech), and I don’t want what everyone else wants, like GOT (this country, no question, is doomed). ‘I Dream of Jeannie…Fifteen Years Later’ (1985): Eden & Co. try to rekindle magic in mid-80s reboot attempt

Sad news: funny actor Bill Daily passed away this week. Pulling the rare trick of appearing in two iconic TV comedies–I Dream of Jeannie and The Bob Newhart Show–Daily was one of those actors lovers of vintage television took to their hearts like a cherished friend. ‘Payback’ (1997): Mary Tyler Moore, Ed Asner reunite

Good ‘ol Mare. I had to poke around all the way up into the 1990s to find a TV movie where Mary Tyler Moore is menaced (apparently she was too good to do cheap actioners during her series’ heyday…): ABC’s Payback, from 1997, with Fredric Lehne, Adam Scott, and guess who? ‘Ol Lou Grant!
